Chris Hébert received his BA degree in Vocal Performance from San Jose
State University.
He has been a studio musician and professional vocalist, and has performed
with the San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose Symphonies.
Chris joined the Barbershop Harmony Society in 1975 as a member of the
Peninsulaires Chorus (Palo Alto, Calif.), who were International medalists in
1979 and 1981.
He joined the Garden City Chorus (San Jose), the predecessor to Voices in
Harmony, in 1987, and was musical director from 1990 to 2004.
A perennial top three chorus finalist in the Far Western District under
Chris's direction, San Jose won the coveted FWD chorus championship in
2002.
Chris has been a certified BHS Singing Judge since 1993, and has served two
terms as Singing Category Specialist (2002 to 2002 and 2010 to 2011).
He and his wife Kathy, a Sweet Adeline, and his three children reside in
Fremont, California.
